STUDIO POLICY 2026-2027
Tuition & Fees
Tuition is based on the length of the lesson and tuition plan (Pay Per Lesson Plan, Monthly Tuition Plan, Quarterly Tuition Plan). Tuition payments may be made online via Zelle or Venmo or by cash or check. Invoices or tuition reminders will ONLY be sent as a courtesy. Students are expected to pay their tuition on time regardless of receipt of such invoices or tuition reminders.
PAY PER LESSON PLAN: Lessons are scheduled on a week-to-week basis, therefore students under this plan are NOT guaranteed a regular weekly lesson block. Payment is due at the time of booking.
MONTHLY TUITION PLAN: Students will have a regular lesson block each week and will receive up to 4 lessons per month. Monthly tuition is due on the 20th of the preceding month. A late fee of $40 will be charged to the student if the monthly tuition is not received by the 1st of the month. Monthly tuition will NOT be prorated without proper consent of the instructor and only may be done so in special circumstances. If a student is permitted to prorate the monthly tuition, the prorated tuition will be the Pay Per Lesson rate.
QUARTERLY TUITION PLAN: Students will have a regular lesson block each week and will receive up to 12 lessons per quarter (3 consecutive months). Quarterly tuition is due 10 days before the start of the quarter (TBA).
If an account is more than 3 weeks past due, the lesson block may be forfeited, and lessons will be suspended until the tuition and late fees have been paid.
There is a $45.00 charge for all returned checks in addition to any bank fees incurred by the instructor from the returned check. In the event that a check is returned for insufficient funds, etc., future tuition payments must be paid in cash or online via Zelle or Venmo.
| Lesson Length | Pay Per Lesson | Monthly Tuition | Quarterly Tuition |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 minutes | $65 | $220 | $645 |
| 45 minutes | $85 | $300 | $885 |
| 60 minutes | $105 | $380 | $1125 |
Make-up Lessons
Students must notify the instructor of an absence or schedule change AT LEAST 24 hours before their scheduled lesson in order to receive a make-up lesson credit. If the instructor does not receive notification within that time or if no notice is given, NO make-up lesson credit will be issued, and the student will be charged for that lesson. Make-up lesson credits will automatically be issued when a lesson is canceled by the instructor.
Make-up lesson credits will expire 60 days after the missed lesson. Any make-up lesson credits that are not utilized within 60 days of the missed lesson will be forfeited. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of and schedule make-up lessons. Once a make-up lesson time is agreed upon, it will NOT be rescheduled again.
In the case of a late cancellation due to illness, a make-up lesson credit will be issued at the instructor’s discretion. Students who are under-the-weather but feel well enough to have a lesson may proceed with a virtual lesson.
When there are 5 lessons in a month for students on the Monthly or Quarterly Tuition Plans, the 5th lesson will serve as a BUILT-IN make-up lesson for any previous or future missed lessons, provided 24 notice of absence is given. No make-up lesson credit will be given for the 5th lesson if it is canceled, whether it is canceled by the student or the instructor.
Cancellation of Services
Students choosing to pause or discontinue lessons, must give notice in writing 2 weeks in advance. If the student has not received all prepaid lessons prior to pausing/stopping lessons, the student has 60 days after informing the instructor to receive any remaining make-up lesson credits. There are NO refunds.
PAUSE FEE: Students wishing to temporarily pause lessons AND maintain their lesson block when lessons are resumed may do so for NO more than ONE month per academic year, and a Pause Fee of 50% of their Monthly Tuition will be applied. The Pause Fee may NOT be applied to lessons or credited to tuition fees and will NOT be refunded.
Holidays & Inclement Weather
Classes ARE held on most school holidays and/or school closings. Students will be notified by the instructor if there are to be any cancellations. In the event of inclement weather, virtual lessons can be done in place of in-person lessons.
Voice Recitals, Master Classes, & Competitions
Students will have the opportunity to perform in voice recitals and master classes as well as competitions. Tuition does NOT include any fees related to recitals, master classes, or competitions. If a student chooses to participate, additional fees will apply.
Music & Supplies
Students will be responsible for purchasing sheet music designated by the instructor. Most music will be provided at little or no cost to the student. Students are expected to bring their sheet music to every lesson and are encouraged to record their lessons and keep a music journal.
